Our Story

Behind the Scenes

In 2002, we established SRISHTI to focus on developing a strong gound-level network in the local communities for addressing concerns that were persisting even after 50+ years of our independence.
Over the last 18 years, SRISHTI has focused on strengthening governance at the gram panchayat and gram sabha levels through a series of projects. The main model of intervention has been on building community-level awareness and capacity for monitoring of government schemes and laws leading to their improved implementation.
Through this model, we have worked on issues ranging from health and nutrition to sustainable use and marketing of non-timber forest products to education to water body rejuvenation amongst others.
Projects have been varied, but the focus has been the community that we grew up in.
We hope to build a healthier, stronger, sustainable, and self-reliant tribal community.
Thematically organization is focused on the subjects of Tribal Community, Education, Livelihood, Women Empowerment, Environmental Sustainability, Agroforestry, and Conservation of Natural Resources like Soil, Air and Water, Rural Development Projects.
